The Industry

Sometimes writing is working for weeks on a revision request on a story, to get so emotionally invested in is this good enough now that you spend literally days on the same paragraph, then screwing up the courage to send it off, and immediately realizing that you’ve sent the wrong file.

Then you spend the 10 minutes before the cafe closes and you have no internet sending a flurry of apologies and requests for clarifications only to discover that there’s actually just a button to click in the submission system to withdraw one and send the other.

This industry is not for the easily frightened.
